Main Settings

These settings include the operating system you are using, the port address of the port your controller card is connected to, adn the speed of the motors. The speed of the motors is the same speed observed with the standard windows software. You can adjust the speed with this value (1 through 300) for each command you add to the sequence.

Motor Settings

These settings allow you to select the direction the motors will turn for this step in the sequence, whether they will operate with a single coil or dual coils energized, or whether they will operate in half-step mode. Also, you can enter a value for the number of steps for each motor in this step of the sequence.

Once the speed of the motors (in the Main Settings area) and the options in this area have been adjusted for this step of the sequence, you can hit "Add Command" to add this step to the sequence.

Delay Settings

This area allows you to enter a delay in seconds into the command sequence. If your application requires that the motors stop rotating for a known period of time, you can accomplish that with this setting. Simply enter the number of seconds you wish for the motors to delay, and then hit "Add Delay".

Command Routine

In this area you can view the commands you have added to the routine, remove any unwanted commands, and specify whether or not the sequence of commands should loop continuously.

There is also a feature in this section that allows you to turn the motors off after the routine has been executed. Stepper motors have holding torque which allows them to lock the position of their shaft. If you turn the motors off after the routine has executed, this holding torque will not be present, but the motors also will not experience the large temperature rise that they sometimes do when the receive a constant current.
